Tax cuts are so easy.

I am old enough to remember a time when most Wisconsin residents understood that taxes were the price we agreed to pay in exchange for exceptional government services. Politicians who promised tax cuts were generally seen as playing to the crowd, irresponsible populists not serious about the hard business of governing. How I wish that more politicians today had the courage to resist the temptation of easy tax cuts. Especially now, when we have a real need to invest in the future.
